Citing "inadequate margins," BASF ( Ludwigshafen / Germany; www.basf.com) has increased prices for acrylic monomers worldwide, with effect from 1 April 2008. In Europe, Africa and the Middle East , glacial acrylic acid and ethyl acrylate have risen by EUR 50/t, n-butyl acrylate by EUR 70/t and 2-ethyl hexyl acrylate by EUR 90/t.

In North America , glacial acrylic acid and methyl acrylate are up by USD 66/t, n-butyl acrylate by USD 88/t and 2-ethyl hexyl acrylate by USD 155/t. Price hikes in Asia vary according to product and country-specific aspects, BASF said.
